Strengthening the connection between Beijing and Tianjin, is the pivotal step in implementing the significant national strategy for the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
To comprehensively carry out the essential principles outlined in President Xi’s important address during the symposium on advancing coordinated development in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, fulfill the directives set forth in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Party, as well as unite Beijing’s strengths in scientific and technological innovation with Tianjin’s advanced manufacturing and research and development capabilities, the Beijing-Tianjin Industry Fair, as well as the joint investment promotion event was successfully hosted in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area on September 26, 2023, which further deepened the collaborative development of industries between Beijing and Tianjin.
The theme of the event is “Co-building the Industrial Ecosystem of Beijing and Tianjin”. The event was jointly organized by Beijing Municipal Coordinated Office, Tianjin Municipal Coordinated Office, with support from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development Joint Office, Tianjin Cooperation and Exchange Office, and Tianjin Municipal Government Beijing Office. It was hosted by Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area Management Committee and Tianjin Wuqing District Government, and co-hosted by Beijing Municipal Coordinated Development Service Promotion Association and Zhongguancun Federation of Social Organizations, with the participation of over 240 companies from Beijing and Tianjin.
The event aimed at establishing the platform for businesses in Beijing and Tianjin to engage in collaborative exchanges and joint investment, and elevating the capacity and resilience of the regional industrial supply chain to propel Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development to new heights.
During the event, officials from Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordination Special Working Group introduced the relevant policies aimed at supporting industrial cooperation. Officials from Wuqing District, Dongli District, Jizhou District in Tianjin, along with Beijing-Tianjin Cooperation Demonstration Zone, and Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, Changping District, Pinggu District, and Fangshan District, presented investment opportunities. Company representatives also shared their experiences and insights regarding their presence and operations within Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
In the negotiation, businesses from Beijing and Tianjin adopted sector-specific discussions and presentations across fields like new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, biopharmaceuticals, commerce, trade, logistics, cultural tourism, industrial internet, clean energy, and environmental protection equipment. Following these discussions, companies from both cities conducted on-site visits and exchanged ideas with local enterprises and industrial parks in Beijing.
Notably, during the event, entities from Beijing and Tianjin signed strategic cooperation agreements. Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area inked the strategic cooperation agreements with Tianjin Wuqing District and Dongli District, while Pinggu District signed the agreements with Jizhou District. Pinggu District, Jizhou County, Sanhe City, and Xinglong County signed strategic framework agreements, with focus on practical cooperation spanning industries, ecology, transportation, and public services, accelerating high-quality development in neighboring regions.
In total, 41 cooperation projects were officially signed, with an aggregate intended investment of approximately 27.181 billion Yuan.
