From 9th September to 11th October 2024, United Nations Human Rights Council held its 57th session in Geneva, Switzerland. During the conference, the Council engaged in interactive dialogues and group discussions with participating high commissioners on various human rights related issues, including promoting and protecting economic, social, and cultural rights in the context of addressing inequality, providing quality education for children, safeguarding the development rights of all countries, and fulfilling their obligations to support human rights.

In order to hear more voices from around the world, United Nations Human Rights Council solicited proposals from non-governmental organizations in special consultative status with ECOSOC. Zhongguancun Federation of Social Organizations (ZGCFSO) submitted its report earlier this month. Recently, the report has been officially included in the documents of the 57th session.

In this meeting, as a NGO, ZGCFSO reviewed China's efforts made in youth education, addressing an aging society, and safeguarding the interests of special groups including disabled people. By implementing measures such as economic subsidies and promoting digital education, Chinese government enables all adolescents have equal opportunities on education. It also expanded the social security system for the elderly through forms such as pensions, and continuously promoted public service facilities for disabled people. These efforts not only promote China's human rights development and set an example internationally, but also play a role in solving domestic social problems and narrowing the domestic socio-economic gap to a certain extent.

Previously, ZGCFSO had participated in several conferences hosted by United Nations and submitted proposals for activities. In the future, ZGCFSO will continue to actively participate in the conference activities released by United Nations Human Rights Council and other relevant institutions, expand international influence, and tell China's stories well on the world stage.
